The Lee Plaza hotel sits abandoned on W. Grand Blvd. in Detroit, Michigan, May 11, 2013. According to an article by Dan Austin on HistoricDetroit.org, the building is a testament to a long history of problems in Detroit. Built by a millionaire real estate developer Ralph T. Lee, the property was constructed in 1927 and in bankruptcy in 1935. Photo by James Edward Bates.
